The latest additions to our inventory display lets you easily manage custom inventory rules using branch, locations and providers. It offers flexibility to customize inventory display and rules to fit your needs. You can link branches to locations, set restricted delivery options, and create personalized stock messages, giving you the tools to streamline your inventory management.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through the configuration steps and demonstrate various use cases to help you make the most of this powerful new feature.

Enabling Inventory Display 2.0 Features to your Store

This is a pre-release feature and must be enabled for your store by our EvolutionX staff. Ask our team to add the native-live-settings pre-release to your store.

Configuration

Branch locations

With Inventory Display 2.0, you can now associate a branch with a specific location. Follow these steps to configure it:

  • Ensure that the collection is enabled for your branch.

  • Navigate to Store Settings > Branch > Locations.

  • Drag the respective location to the right side.

  • Click on the basket button.

  • Click the blue "Save Changes" button.

Providers (if ERP with live inventory installed)

The Inventory menu is now split into three submenus: Product Inventories, Providers, and Inventory Rules.

In the Providers submenu, the existing providers are displayed or you can create a new one with the following fields. The fields will be dynamically displayed according with the provider that you choose:

Note: There is a maximum of 3 providers.

Inventory rules

You can set up custom rules for your store based on Suppliers, Providers, Branches, Customer label, Product Group, Shipment type and Location.

The stock message can be personalised for each location.

Use cases

How do I change branches when I am looking at the locations popup with inventory values

Make sure that you have the default locations enabled in the respective branches read more. And then when you click on the stock value, you will find a radio button in the flyout that you can select the branch that you want to switch to.

Military/police uniforms can't be delivered/shipped, this product is collection only.

You can set up any product to be "Delivery Only" regardless of the inventory rule.

  1. Go to Admin and search for the product

  2. In Storefront Overlay, go to Other fields > Shipment Method

  3. Change the dropdown to "Collection only"

And the product will have only the option for Collection enabled in the Storefront

Cement and sandbags are too heavy to be collected. This product can only be delivered/shipped

You can set up any product to be "Delivery Only", even if you have "Delivery and Collection" in your store or rules settings.

  1. Go to Admin and search for the product

  2. In Storefront Overlay, go to Other fields > Shipment Method

  3. Change the dropdown to "Delivery only"

How can I display all of the products as "Collection only" in my store?

Make sure that all of your products are "inherit" in the product level

Go to Store Settings > Store Preferences > Orders > Shipment Method, and change the dropdown value to "Collection only"

I am in one branch and I don't want you to order stock from that branch...but I want to show you that you have stock in another branch and you can order from there

In this case is just a matter of messaging. You can go to your rules (Product > Inventory > Settings) and change the "Out "In Stock Message", "Out of Stock Message" and "Restock Message" to something like "Check another branch"

Do I have the ability of not showing inventory for some products?

Yes, you can create a general inventory rule in the (Product > Inventory > Settings)

that will be reflected in all the products, with the "Show Stock Value" that you want (for eg: Stock message, location, and count)

Then create a specific rule for the product group that you don't want to show stock value, the "Show Stock Value" = "stock message"

Products are out of stock, but I still want users to be able to add to the cart because the product will be available for shipping in a few days... how do I set up this rule/message?

In this case, within the Inventory Rules, you can enable the 'Include products without inventory' toggle. This allows you to include products with zero stock. Then, you can set custom messages by location, specifying the number of days until the products will be available.

In the storefront your users will see the following:

I have some items in my branch, but the warehouse has other items that will be available for collection in a few days. How can I set this up?

Here you should create two different rules in the Inventory Settings, one with the branch default location, and another one with the warehouse location.

In the first rule (with the default branch location), you can set the "Show Stock Value as "Stock message, location, and count"

And in the other one (with the warehouse location), you can set the in stock messaging with the number of days until the products will be available for collection.

In the storefront the user will have the following result:
