Understanding Product Attributes

Product attributes act as filters, enabling customers to quickly narrow down search results and find the products they need with just a few clicks.

By default, when a search is performed, filter attributes appear on the left-hand side of the layout, initially displaying only the brand and category filter options. Once a brand or category is selected, the resulting product search page will show the full list of attribute filter choices.

You can modify this behaviour in the admin panel under Store Settings > General > Product Search > Others Settings (Show all attributes on search results pages). Additional display settings for attribute filters are available under Store Settings > General > Store Preferences > Catalogue section.

Attributes are also crucial for the product configurator module, allowing you to add drop-downs, radio buttons, or colour swatches to product pages. This makes it easier for users to select size or colour variants of the products they are viewing.

In this video, we provide a quick introduction to attributes and how they are displayed on the store front.

Adding attributes manually to own products

Adding product attributes manually to your own products is a straightforward process in EvolutionX. It may be that you've added just one new item to the catalogue and you quickly want to add these in without the need for an import. You can see how this is done here.

Importing Attributes to own products

Adding product attributes via import is a faster and more efficient method when working with multiple products in EvolutionX. This bulk import process saves time and effort by allowing you to apply attributes to a large number of products simultaneously, ensuring consistency and accuracy across your product catalogue. You can view the video explaining attribute imports here
