ECI Global Edge ERP Integration

EvolutionX integration for checkout tax, order submission, order history, and card-on-file payments with ECI Global Edge (Davisware).

Written by Pedro Pinto

What is Global Edge ERP?

GlobalEdge is an ERP for field service and commercial service businesses β€” HVAC/R, food equipment, petroleum equipment, overhead door, and similar industries. It unifies service workflows, inventory and parts, job costing, and financials (AR/AP/GL).

πŸ‘ Important: Orders are created on the storefront checkout. Tax calculation and order submission to Global Edge happen through the checkout flow. Admin order creation, if started, must be completed on the storefront by the customer.

πŸ‘ Important: Each Global Edge ship-to is represented in EvolutionX as a child customer account under the parent customer. The Global Edge ship-to ID is stored on that child account as Seller Reference.

Install from the App Store

Enable the ECI Global Edge app from the App Store under the ERP category. Go to EvolutionX Admin and click App Store β†’ ECI Global Edge.

πŸ‘ Important: This is a restricted app. If you do not currently have permission to install it, please contact EvolutionX support.

  • Global Edge Token: Session token for the Global Edge eCommerce API, provided by ECI.

  • Global Edge Endpoint: Base URL for the Global Edge API, provided by ECI.

  • Error notification e-mail Sender: SES e-mail address to be used as sender (FROM) for e-mails sent when an integration error occurs.

  • Error notification e-mail Receiver: E-mail address to receive (TO) information when an integration error occurs.

Checkout β€” live tax calculation

During checkout, EvolutionX calls Global Edge CheckoutTax with:

  • Customer code, seller reference, and contact reference

  • Cart line SKUs, quantities, and line amounts

  • Shipping methods and amounts

πŸ‘ Important: Tax is calculated in Global Edge. Configure tax behaviour in Global Edge; do not rely on EvolutionX store tax settings to override checkout tax for Global Edge orders.

Payment methods

Card on file (Global Edge)

Global Edge stores payment tokens. EvolutionX retrieves them and exposes them as Card on file at checkout.

Requirements:

  • ECI Global Edge app installed

  • Card on file payment method enabled under Payment Methods

  • User role enables View ERP Cards on File

  • Valid account number, seller reference, and user seller reference on the customer

  • A card token already stored in Global Edge at account or contact level

Cards can exist at two levels:

Checkout β€” card on file

Fortis and Global Edge

For Global Edge stores, Fortis supports:

  • Adding a new card β€” the card is tokenized in Fortis, then saved to Global Edge.

  • Paying with card on file at checkout β€” Fortis performs an auth-only pre-authorisation while the customer is on screen; Global Edge captures the payment when the order is processed.

Surcharge behaviour (Fortis):

  • When the customer selects a card on file, EvolutionX quotes the Fortis surcharge before Pay Now

  • The surcharge and updated total are shown at checkout

  • The captured surcharge is reconciled onto the order total (no separate line item)

  • Debit cards and waived surcharges are not surcharged

πŸ‘ Important: Global Edge card-on-file checkout uses Fortis for authorisation and surcharge and Global Edge for capture. Fortis must be configured as a payment gateway on the store.
