Updating Evolink to remove legacy settings

Legacy settings in Evolink can contain old configuration options from previous versions that are no longer needed.

As the legacy infrastructure is being finally retired, these settings will no longer be supported. Removing outdated settings helps keep the system clean, reduces the risk of configuration issues, and helps to ensure uninterrupted service.

Where is Evolink hosted / installed?

Depending on your ERP provider or setup, Evolink may be:

Installed locally

If Evolink is installed on a computer or server you can access, you’ll be able to quickly check whether any changes are needed and follow the guide below.

Installed by your ERP provider

Evolink is hosted or managed as part of your ERP provider’s environment or support services. You will need to ask your ERP provider to carry out this update for you.

If you are unsure, check with your ERP administrator or provider to confirm who manages your Evolink installation.

Checking and Updating Evolink

Locate the computer or server where Evolink is installed.

Select 'Stop Processing'

Click into 'Tools' and then 'Update Parameter'

Are any actions required (do i need to do anything?)

When you open the update parameter screen, there is a quick check you can perform to determine whether any changes are needed:

If the two fields highlighted below are empty, no action is required. Click Cancel and remember to restart Evolink.

If either field contains entries, continue below and follow the instructions to update Evolink.

Parameter settings to update:

  1. Evolution Database / Prefix

    This field should be empty

  2. Field to the right of Database / Prefix

    This field should be empty

  3. Carriage product code

    Only one code is required. Remove the second entry, including the semicolon.

    note: Your carriage code may be different.

  4. Surfer customer code

    Only one code is required. Remove the second entry, including the semicolon.

    note: Your surfer code may be different.

The updated settings will look similar to this:

Once complete, save the settings by clicking Accept

It's important to set Evolink running again, to do so simply click Start Processing
