Approve Button Missing for Designated Approver

Why the Approve button may be missing on storefront quotes and how to complete approval

In some cases, a designated approver may not see the Approve button when viewing a quote on the storefront. This behavior is typically related to the current state of the quote within the user’s session.

If you are a designated approver and do not see the Approve button on a quote in the storefront, this is typically because the quote is in an editable state.

Why the Approve Button May Be Missing
If the Approve button is not visible and the Edit button is shown instead, this indicates that the quote has already been opened and modified within the current session. When a quote is in an editable state, the system requires the approver to proceed through the edit flow.

This is expected behavior. When a user edits an order but does not complete the full checkout process, the Approve button will remain hidden. To proceed correctly, the customer must click Edit Order and continue through the checkout process to complete and approve the order.

This step is required because if an order is edited without completing checkout, shipping costs and taxes may not be updated correctly.

How to Complete the Approval
To approve the quote, follow these steps:

  • Click Edit Order on the quote

  • Review the order details as needed

  • Continue through the checkout process

  • Submit the order to complete the approval
