What Are Contract Group Labels?
Managing multiple contracts has traditionally meant displaying them in a single continuous list. While functional, this approach can become difficult to navigate as the number of contracts increases.
Contract Group Labels allow contracts to be grouped and displayed separately on the storefront. By assigning a label to a price list in the admin area, contracts can be visually separated into clearly defined groups.
These groups are presented to end users as selectable labels, enabling them to quickly switch between different contract lists.
Additionally, storefront users have the flexibility to rename these labels to something more personal or meaningful for their own view. Any changes made on the storefront act as a personal overlay and do not affect the original label defined in the admin area.
Adding a Contract Group Label
To add a new Contract Group Label:
Navigate to the relevant contract price list in the admin area.
Select Edit.
Within the price list settings, locate the Contract Group Label field.
Begin typing to create a new label, or select an existing label from the list.
Save your changes.
The selected label will then be applied to that price list and reflected on the storefront.
Editing a Contract Group Label
When editing a Contract Group Label, you have two options:
Apply change to this contract only – Updates the label for that specific contract list.
Apply change to all contracts sharing this label – Updates the label everywhere it is used, ensuring consistency for all customers.
Note: If a customer has renamed the label on the storefront, any changes made in the admin area will not override their personal label view.
How do the labels work?
No label assigned to a price list
The default behaviour is maintained. Contracts will continue to display as a single list on the storefront.
Label assigned to a price list
The assigned label appears on the storefront as a selectable option. End users can click the label to view contracts associated with that group.
Same label used across multiple price lists
Products contained in separate price lists that share the same Contract Group Label will be displayed together in a single grouped list on the storefront.
What does my customer see on the storefront?
On the storefront, customers will see contract groups displayed as separate lists:
In the header menu
In the sidebar on contract item pages
From the sidebar, storefront users can:
Rename a group (using the edit/pen icon)
Reorder groups by dragging them into a new position
These changes affect only their personal view.
FAQ
Can my customer add or change items in a contract / price list?
No. The items within each contract list are controlled in the admin area and cannot be modified by storefront users.
If a user changes the name of a list, will other users see the change?
No. Any label changes made on the storefront apply only to that user’s view.
What happens if I update the name of a contract group in the admin area?
All storefront users with access to that contract will see the updated name, unless they have set a personal name for that group.
Can I rename “Contract Groups” to better match my business terminology?
Yes. Navigate to:
Admin → Store Settings → Translations
The translation key is:
header.contractitem.contract_groups
