Setup the Nuvei Credit Card App

EvolutionX has a certified integration with Nuvei payments which supports:

  • SCA and 3D Secure

  • User Saved Cards

  • Invoice Payments (requires an ERP Integration to Live Invoicing)

  • Checkout Integration for Orders

  • My Account saved cards view

  • AVS and CVV security checking

  • Order Pre-auth or Charge now options

  • EvolutionX configuration and reporting support

Security using Nuvei Merchant Added Value Services

Nuvei provide several added value services to improve the security of payments. These are by request to Nuvei or can be configured in the Nuvei merchant portal.

Required Fraud Protection Rules

Nuvei Rules Engine settings must be enabled in the Nuvei merchant portal by clicking the Menu > Risk > Client Fraud Rules. Use this documentation for Nuvei Services - Nuvei Documentation. Examples of checks that can be enabled:

  • 3D Secure Information

  • Global limits to home country (example US)

  • Global Velocity limits

  • CVV check

  • AVS Address Check

Install Credit Card Nuvei App in EvolutionX

Net1 is the Nuvei partner and reseller responsible for coordinating the merchant’s Nuvei payment-processing requirements.

Before configuring the app, contact the Net1 team to obtain the following Nuvei API integration details:

Nuvei CPANEL Credentials

  • Nuvei Merchant ID

  • Nuvei Site ID

  • Nuvei Secret Key

Important: The Nuvei Merchant ID required by EvolutionX is not the same as the merchant’s Nuvei Account MID. Do not enter the Account MID in the EvolutionX Merchant ID field. Net1 will provide the correct credentials for the EvolutionX integration coming from the Nuvei CPANEL.

In EvolutionX Admin:

  1. Go to App Store.

  2. Find and install the Nuvei Credit Card Processing app.

  3. Enter the following values exactly as provided by Net1:

    • Merchant ID

    • Merchant Site ID

    • Merchant Secret Key

  4. Enable Use Level 3 Data if instructed by Net1.

  5. Configure the app status:

    • Leave Status disabled while using test credentials and test cards.

    • Enable Status once Net1 has provided the production credentials and confirmed that the merchant account is ready for live processing.

The Merchant Secret Key is sensitive. Store and share it securely, and do not include it in screenshots, support tickets, or unsecured email.

Configure Credit Card Payment Settings

In Admin, go to Store Settings → Payment Methods to configure the payment method on the storefront.

  • Storefront Label — sets the description seen by the customer when choosing this payment method, recommend "Credit Card" or Credit Card by Nuvei".

  • Charge Option — set as Pre-auth and Capture in checkout will secure payment at the time of order placement and set as Pre-auth & Capture on Dispatch will require a separate capture step to secure payment. Consult with our Customer Success Team on these settings.

  • Payment Restriction — this will present the payment method to all customers, customers with credit enabled, or customers without credit enabled. Learn more about these options here.

FAQ

What credentials do I need to configure Nuvei in EvolutionX?

EvolutionX requires Nuvei Gateway Credentials from Nuvei CPANEL:

  • Nuvei Merchant ID

  • Nuvei Merchant Site ID

  • Nuvei Merchant Secret Key

Obtain all three values from the Net1 team. Net1 will ensure that the correct credentials are supplied for the merchant and environment.

Do not request or source these credentials directly from Nuvei unless instructed to do so by Net1.

Is the Nuvei Account MID the same as the Merchant ID required by EvolutionX?

No. They are different identifiers.

  • The Nuvei Account MID relates to the underlying payment-processing account.

  • The Nuvei Merchant ID required by EvolutionX is a Nuvei API credentials identifier.

  • EvolutionX requires the Nuvei Merchant ID, not the Account MID.

Net1 manages the relationship between the merchant’s processing account and the API integration configuration. If you are unsure which identifier you have received, contact Net1 before configuring the EvolutionX app.

How can I test Credit Card charges working?

How do I capture Pre Auth Payments?

If you have set your payment to "Pre Auth & Capture on dispatch"

You can settle the payment from within EvoX Store
