Multi-Currency Support

Multi-currency support allows your customers to view prices in their preferred currency, making shopping easier and more transparent. It helps eliminate confusion about exchange rates and unexpected fees.

Store Default Currency

The store's default currency is set in Store Settings > Site Profile > Locale. Any new accounts added to the store will automatically inherit this default currency.

Changing the Currency for an Account

πŸ‘ Important! If an account or its child account has placed any orders or added items to the cart, the currency will be locked and cannot be changed.

To change the currency for a specific account:

  1. Select the account in question and click Edit.

  2. Choose the new currency from the available options.

    1. If you have Parent / Child accounts you can use "Apply Currency to Child Accounts" toggle to quickly apply the chosen currency to all associated accounts. When this toggle is applied, any child accounts added to the parent will automatically inherit the currency set at the parent.

  3. Click Save to apply the changes.

VAT / Tax calculations

It's important to note that the currency settings only affect the currency displayed and does not impact the way VAT or tax is calculated at checkout. VAT/tax calculations are based on the store's default address or the account default delivery address. If an account uses a tax different from the store's default, it must have a default delivery address assigned to a location from which the VAT/tax will be calculated.

For example: If the store's default currency is UK Pounds, but an account is set to Euros because the account is in Ireland, that account must have a default delivery address set that is in Ireland for the VAT to be correctly calculated.

FAQ

Is it possible to have currency conversions?

Currently the currency symbol is the only thing that changes. There is no ability to set conversion rates between currencies.
