Before You Begin
If you're new to banners, start with the basics:
Uploading banners
Once you're familiar with these, return here for a deeper dive into Banner Groups and Containers.
Understanding the Structure
To use Banner Groups and Containers effectively, think of them as a system for placing and controlling banners on your storefront. Here's how they work together:
Banner Groups: Define the rules for when and to whom banners appear. You set conditions (e.g., specific products, customer types, or search keywords) and choose which banners to display.
Banner Containers: Link Banner Groups to a specific widget, acting as the bridge between your rules and the display location.
Banner Container Widget: Determines where on your storefront the banners appear (e.g., above a product image, in the sidebar, or in the footer).
Pro Tip
If multiple banners are assigned to a Banner Group, the associated widget automatically turns into a slider (carousel), cycling through the banners for dynamic display.
Who: Targeting the Right Audience
Banner Groups let you tailor your banners to specific audiences using Label Restrictions:
Customer Labels: Show banners to specific customer types (e.g., VIPs, new customers, or loyalty members).
No Label Restrictions: Display banners to all visitors for broad reach.
What: Connecting Banners to Content
Banner Groups allow you to associate banners with specific storefront elements:
Items: Display banners on specific product pages.
Brands: Show banners on brand-specific pages.
Categories: Link banners to category pages.
Content Pages: Attach banners to blogs or landing pages.
Search Keywords: Trigger banners based on customer search terms.
Customer or Product Labels: Display banners when specific labels are detected.
When: Timing Your Campaigns
Control when banners appear with:
Start and End Dates: Schedule banners for specific timeframes, ideal for promotions, seasonal campaigns, or limited-time offers.
Where: Placing Banners on Your Storefront
Banner Container Widgets determine the placement of your banners:
Above Product Images: Highlight promotions alongside products.
Sidebar: Add banners to side navigation for visibility.
Footer: Place banners at the bottom for subtle messaging.
Custom Locations: Use widgets to define unique placements based on your layout.
