When building quicklists for your customers you probably have noticed that there is a selection for quicklist type. This is to enable your customers to share and restrict quicklists more easily.

Quicklist Types

  • Personal - These are quicklists that are created on the storefront by your customers. They can be converted into company quicklists but they can't be converted back to a personal quicklist.

  • Company ( Restricted by User ) - These are quicklists that are restricted by User. When your customer creates a "Company" quicklist on the storefront, it is automatically restricted to the user that created it.

  • Company ( All account Users ) - Theses are quicklists that are available automattically to any and all users that are part of that account. You can create these quicklist in the Admin or convert an existing "Company ( Restricted by User )" to an "Company ( All account Users )".

⚠️ Note: Personal type quicklists follow a user in a parent child account configuration. User Restricted type quicklists also follow the assigned users in a parent child account configuration. Keep in mind only users created at the parent account can potentially navigate from parent to children accounts depending on their account restrictions. The quicklist must also be created at the parent account. You can not assign a user created at a child account level to a quicklist created at the parent account level.

Admin - Creating Quicklist Types

Storefront - Creating Quicklist Types

When your customer creates a company quicklist it is automatically created as a Company ( Restricted by User )  and is automatically restricted to the user that created it.

Changing Types -  Company ( Restricted by User ) quicklist type

When a user creates a "Company" quicklist on the storefront, you can change it to an "All account user" list in the admin area.

Changing Types -  Personal quicklist type

You can change a personal quicklist type into one of the company types but you can't revert back to a personal quicklist type.

Importing Quicklists

You can import both types of company quicklists through the Admin imports. The import allows you to create new quicklists and specify their types. However, you can't change the quicklist type through an import. This can be done through the Admin interface as you can see above.

When importing new quicklists - remember to add the correct type.

  • Company ( Restricted by User ) - Type 2

  • Company ( All account Users ) - Type 3

That's it now go and have some fun building a quicklist ! 🎸
